With a population of 10,800, Hawkesbury is the gateway to Ontario — located right across the river from Grenville, Québec. This is Prescott-Russell’s economic hub, with a large job sector, big-box retailers, a regional hospital, many health care provides and services and several schools.

Hawkesbury’s early history was that of a lumber town; during the summer, you can learn more about the town’s history and take in some culture at the same time at the Maison de l’Ile at the foot of the Long Sault Bridge. There are special events in town, lots of dining choices, parks, (a dog park, too), a sports complex, multi-purpose recreational room, tennis courts, a large library, shopping and much more in this growing community.
